Overview

THE ROLE:

 

The First Shift Supervisor, Warehouse Logistics will work onsite at our state of art Innovation and Manufacturing facility in Lake Forest, CA. Will supervise the detailed coordination of complex operations involving many people, facilities, materials and supplies in a high paced manufacturing environment. The Supervisor maintains the scheduling and control of materials from receipt delivery scheduling through final sales delivery interfacing daily with all HL manufacturing departments, HL distribution centers, transportation & deployment, vendor relations daily.  

 

 

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:


•    Provides scheduling and supervision of warehouse staff to assure proper receipt, processing, storage, and issuance of materials throughout the manufacturing process.  Schedule and lead all aspects of  logistics of overall warehouse stocking and interplant transfer of warehouse inventory.  
•    Works closely with all HIM and corporate department supervisors to ensure materials flow efficiently from purchasing, sampling, and transfer to KANBAN’s for manufacturing and return to storage. 
•    Provides planning, scheduling, training, direction, and coordination for complex multi-facility logistics operations & warehouse related activities, while achieving optimum use of workers, equipment, materials and facilities without delay or disruption.
•    Supervise the finished Goods transfer to the DC warehouses, the release of finished goods and processing of FG COA, and manifests for the proper picking of materials to meet sales orders in accordance with Take Clear Orbits through the final sales transactions at HIM facilities and Herbalife distribution centers.
•    Establishes and develop Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions to improve overall performance, ensure inventory accuracy, streamline handling, improve productivity, and promote efficient material flow and space utilization. 
•    Assists in the supervision of the materials control system by scheduling and tracking materials through purchasing, receiving, material handling, raw materials and finished goods inventories and shipping to distribution center.
•    Support and develop management CI projects, and engineering projects and installations.
•    Assists in the cycle counting program, and inventory audits to ensure the proper inventory management and control is in place for all materials.  Provide subject matter expertise on WMS and inventory control and management practices. Work with production team to ensure proper and accurate controls are in place in all inventory and production locations.  
•    Assists in the disposition and maintain the hold and reject area within the warehouse according to established procedures.  Coordinates with Quality, Purchasing, and Transportation to isolate and disposition non-conforming incoming materials and products.
•    Ensure that major production consumables including pallets, super sack bags are maintained and ordered.
•    Ensure safety of personnel and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.  Establish “Safety First” culture within the warehouse and routinely checks to ensure compliance to all established safe practices. Review and inspect equipment and conducts safety meetings. 
•    Perform additional duties as assigned.

The team is responsible for all material receipts for the manufacture and packaging of protein powder meals, liquid aloe product, the transfer of all raw materials and packaging components between buildings, the transfer of finished product to Herbalife distribution centers via third party carriers and the final sale of the finished goods to Herbalife distribution centers.  The warehouse department collaborates with all other departments including Planning, Purchasing, Quality control, Production, Quality assurance, transportation and distribution in a high performing facility that functions as one team producing remarkable results within a modest footprint. Our state of art Innovation and Manufacturing facility in Lake Forest, CA has been recognized numerous times as a top workplace in Orange County. 

 


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


•    Schedule, train, direct and supervise a team of 4-8 reports in the Warehouse groups, and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training and development of the employees.  Receiving and Handling, Inventory Control in a multi building/DC complex.

 

 

Job Qualifications

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 

 

Skills:


•    Strong analytical, investigative, project management and mathematical skills
•    Ability to establish strategic partnerships and relationships cross-functionally and across businesses.
•    Dedicated, results-oriented, and motivated to work effectively without direct supervision.
•    Read, write, and understand English with good verbal and written communication skills.
•    Strong Computer Office Skills (i.e., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook E-mail)
•    Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations (FDA 21 CFR – Part 111,114 and 117) food safety (FSMA) and documentation procedures. 
•    Ability to organize workload, prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines and multi-task on several projects individually as well as in a team environment.

 

Experience:

 


•    6 years of experience in warehouse and production operations related to inventory and process control functions.
•    Experience and knowledge with Enterprise Warehouse and Inventory Management Systems
•    3 years’ experience in a leadership role


Education:


•     High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
