Overview

THE ROLE:

 

The First Shift Quality Control Technician II will work onsite at our state of art Innovation and Manufacturing facility in Lake Forest, CA. Will be responsible for the sampling of raw materials, in-process materials and reserve sample arrangements as well as related documentation and other tasks as assigned by management. Will work  independently on assigned tasks and in a team environment under direct supervision.

 

 

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:   

 

  • Guide and train Quality Control Technician Is on raw material sampling and releases in the Oracle system.
  • Lead junior technicians performing regular tasks of raw material sampling in warehouse area following Herbalife policies and procedures.
  • Advise continuous system enhancement opportunities for compliance and efficiency.
  • Timely complete RM Quarantine, Release, Retain, Reject activities and complete related documentation.
  • Review of documentation such as lab test results for received raw materials to assure material meets specifications before releasing in Oracle system.
  • Assure daily Verification Log and Maintenance Log for balances and cleanness of the sampling booths
  • Ensure adherence with GMPs and SOPs; responsibilities include performing sampling, packaging inspection and documentation review activities as the need arises.
  • Assist management in conducting formal procedural inquiries and investigations to determine the cause of quality problems, recommend corrective action to management as required.
  • Interact effectively with co-workers, management, other departments, and vendors in order to work efficiently.
  • Assist management with development and execution of departmental goals and objectives related to raw material sample handling.

Job Qualifications

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 

 

Skills

 

  • Ability to lead the  RM sampling process
  • Familiar with process flows for RM releases, quarantines, and rejects
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for work coordination and identification for system improvements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written English
  • Computer literacy, with solid PC and software experience
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30lbs
  • Strong ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

 

Experience:

 

  • 3 years of previous work experience as Technician I
  • Thorough understanding of Herbalife's RM management system and processes for RM release, Quarantine, and Rejection for Oracle and related forms/documents.
  • Experience with training junior technicians on the sampling processes
  • Knowledge of cGMP and QA/QC procedures for the food and dietary supplement industry

 

 

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Practical knowledge working with warehouse on RM management for release, quarantine, and reject.
  • Experience with Forklift operation for sample pallets handling
  • Previous knowledge and understanding of Quality compliance
  • Previous experience working in a Dietary Supplements manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Science related subject area
