Overview

THE ROLE:

 

The First Shift Maintenance Technical Leader (MTL) provides technical leadership in maintenance leading equipment repair, troubleshooting, development of preventive maintenance practices and services for the manufacturing facility. Additionally, this position assists the Supervisor leading, developing and implementing departmental goals, timelines, preventative maintenance programs and safety and quality programs as it relates to equipment and production efficiency. The individual will work onsite at our state of art Innovation and Manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem, NC.

 

 

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

 

  • Maintenance Technical Leader provides technical leadership in a cGMP environment Promote and maintain a safe work environment
  • Clear and concise communication skills supporting company and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the technical leadership of maintenance team to ensure employees are working toward a common goal, remaining productive, and avoiding conflict and negative competition
  • Identifies and leads reliability, cost reduction and efficiency projects for the teams Coordinates, leads and communicates continuous improvement projects with clear expectations on deliverables keeping shift leadership informed of progress.
  • Facilitates and trains team members in all the technical aspects of their positions. Leads maintenance support with fresh starts ensuring minimal losses at startup
  • Monitor maintenance activities via the CMMS system for both facilities & production equipment in a multi-shift, multi-site environment to insure activity completion and effectiveness.
  • Assists in the staffing and distribute workload by assigning work tasks, realigning tasks delivering maximum results.
  • Develop others, through coaching, mentoring and training, to reach their full potentials
  • Complete and maintain all necessary documentation including applicable cGMP, Confined Space, Hot Work, PFS Toolbox, and training documents
  • Interacts with Production, Quality and Planning groups daily to assure production schedules are met or exceeded
  • Attend leadership training classes as available
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment, as a team leader setting the example of professionalism
  • Positive Attitude, Willingness and Desire to learn
  • In-Depth, demonstrated knowledge of PLC's, use Ladder logic (minor code changes) related controls, with ability to cross train others.
  • Understand and support company's long-term growth and health
  • Accountable for shift results
  • Implements IQ/OQ for equipment installation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent proven organization and analytical skills
  • Excellent proven communication skills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated coaching, mentoring and guiding skills
  • This position will require the employee to operate a motorized powered lift i.e. Forklift, Scissor lift, one man lift, etc. An MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) will determine an employee's eligibility to operate these lifts. 

     

    ***A Valid driver's license is required for this position.***

Experience: 

 

  • 8+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Military Experience/ Assignments may be considered
  • PLC knowledge / understanding

 

 

Education: 

 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • 2-year technical degree from accredited institution, or equivalent experience
  • 1-year experience working in a cGMP environment
  • CMMS/ Asset Management system experience (i.e. Maximo, D7i, Upkeep, Maint, Maintimizer, etc.)
  • HVAC-R Training/ Education with License / Certifications
  • Electrical License (preferred)
