The 3rd shift MQA Supervisor will be part of the Quality group and will work onsite at our state of art Innovation and Manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem, NC. This is a high visibility role that interacts with Operations to create great working relationships between the two groups. Responsible for supervision and coordination of all daily Manufacturing Quality Assurance inspection activities related to batch production. Responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing MQA staff and assisting them with documenting and responding to any quality-related issues that occur on the production floor.
• Lead, supervise and prioritize the work of MQA Technicians.
• Assist management with providing direction, task assignment, SOP and cGMP training and guidance, on the job training, and development to co-workers.
• Ensure GMP procedures and documentation are in place for all quality-related batch production activities and requirements.
• Ensure all MQA Tech activities are being performed completely and accurately.
• Provide and develop training for MQA Techs and all respective support departments personnel as needed (new hire, OTJ).
• Develop, implement and continuously improve the training program for MQA Techs.
• Create, maintain and implement official quality standards for all pre-batch, in-process and post-batch inspections (e.g., quality guides for label placement, torque specifications, lot code printing, etc.)
• Ensure all nonconformances (production-related defects) reported by Distribution Centers are appropriately investigated.
• Collaborate with Production Supervisors to identify and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Train MQA staff on the appropriate use of AQL sampling plans
• Encourage and facilitate communication and collaboration between MQA and other groups (e.g., Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Validation, QC, etc.)
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
• Interdepartmental Liaison for resolution of business needs.
• Tracks and Audits CAPA resolutions for completeness, Effectiveness
• Works cross functionally with Doc Control for the timely resolution of issues that may hold up release of product.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Skills:
• Knowledge and understanding of GMP quality systems
• Knowledge of the developing, reviewing, and revising SOP'sAttention to detail
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written English
• Computer literacy, with solid PC and software experience
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
• Strong ability to work independently and as a team member under the pressure of manufacturing
• Critical Thinking and problem solving
• Risk Analysis
Experience:
• 5 years of experience with food, supplement, or pharmaceutical manufacturing, particularly roles involved with quality inspection or quality assurance
• 2 years of experience supervising or leading staff
Education:
• High-school diploma (or equivalent)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• 2- or 4-year college degree
• ASQ Certification as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)
• PCQI or HACCP Certification
