THE ROLE:
The 2nd Shift Sanitation Coordinator coordinates and supports day-to-day sanitation compliance activities, sanitation scheduling, inventory transactions, chemical inventory monitoring, pest-control service coordination, facility inspections, and sanitation documentation management. The position supports execution of the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), maintains sanitation records, assists with inventory and supply management, performs routine compliance inspections, and helps ensure completion of sanitation activities. The Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for sanitation programs while escalating issues, trends, and compliance concerns to the Sanitation and Inventory Control Specialist or Sanitation Leadership.The individual will work onsite at our state of art Innovation and Manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem, NC.
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
Sanitation Schedule Coordination:
• Coordinate daily and weekly sanitation activities in accordance with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
• Maintain sanitation records and task documentation in Kleanz or applicable systems.
• Verify sanitation work orders and task documentation are complete and properly recorded.
• Communicate schedule changes and task status to affected departments.
• Follow up on overdue sanitation activities and escalate concerns as appropriate.
Documentation and Compliance Support:
• Maintain sanitation records, logs, permits, and documentation.
• Assist with preparation and organization of records for audits and inspections.
• Enter inspection findings and corrective action requests into electronic tracking systems.
• Maintain sanitation compliance files and document retention requirements.
Inventory and Materials Coordination:
• Receive, stock, issue, and track sanitation supplies and operational materials.
• Conduct cycle counts and inventory verification activities.
• Monitor inventory levels and report replenishment needs.
• Assist with purchase requisitions and material receipt verification.
• Report inventory discrepancies to the Specialist or leadership for resolution.
Chemical Program Support:
• Monitor sanitation chemical inventories and storage conditions.
• Maintain SDS files and chemical program documentation.
• Coordinate chemical deliveries and vendor visits.
• Report chemical usage concerns, shortages, or system issues.
Pest Control Coordination:
• Coordinate routine pest-control service visits.
• Maintain pest-control logs and service reports.
• Document pest activity observations and report concerns.
• Assist in tracking corrective actions resulting from pest-control findings.
• Support Weekend Fogging Events.
Facility Inspections:
• Conduct routine GMP and sanitation inspections.
• Document inspection results and communicate findings.
• Track assigned corrective actions and follow up on completion status.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the Specialist or Sanitation Leadership.
Operational Support:
• Support sanitation projects, shutdown activities, and special cleaning events.
• Assist with contractor access, coordination, and documentation.
• Provide administrative support to sanitation leadership.
• Perform other sanitation support activities as assigned.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across multiple departments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to utilize computerized inventory, sanitation, compliance, or work management systems.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety principles, sanitation processes, and documentation requirements.
• Ability to analyze operational data, generate reports, identify trends, and support corrective action activities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of inventory control processes, including receiving, cycle counting, reconciliation, and material tracking.
• Ability to investigate routine operational issues, identify root causes, and support resolution efforts.
• Ability to train and effectively transfer knowledge on sanitation procedures, documentation practices, and departmental standards.
• Working knowledge of chemical handling requirements, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and chemical safety practices.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team-based manufacturing environment.
• Compliance with all company policies, procedures, food safety standards, and safety regulations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in sanitation, (for internal HIMWS candidates a Sanitation Tech III level can be considered); food manufacturing, inventory control, facilities services, warehouse operations, quality systems, or related manufacturing environments.
• Working knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), food safety requirements, sanitation programs, and workplace safety standards.
• Experience handling, storing, and managing sanitation chemicals in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting sanitation schedules, compliance programs, inspections, or operational support activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience utilizing computerized systems for inventory management, work order tracking, sanitation management, or compliance documentation.
• Experience conducting inspections, documenting findings, and supporting corrective action follow-up activities.
• Experience with inventory processes including receiving, cycle counting, material tracking, stock replenishment, and inventory reconciliation.
• Ability to analyze information, troubleshoot operational issues, and support implementation of corrective actions.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Safety.
• Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to participate in meetings and communicate information to employees, contractors, and service providers.
• Demonstrated ability to train employees and effectively transfer knowledge related to sanitation procedures, documentation requirements, and departmental processes.
Education:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior safety and chemical handling training.
• Hazmat certification training
